Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Shooting -- A man who said he was shot Thursday night near Monroe Street and Penrose Avenue walked into the emergency room at Bon Secours Hospital, where he was treated. Details were not available.

Arrest -- Mario Montgomery, 30, of the 1900 block of Lauretta Ave. was arrested Wednesday in the 300 block of N. Greene St. on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Montgomery is accused of shooting a 37-year-old man Nov. 12 in the 100 block of N. Carrollton Ave.


Assault/arrest -- A boy, 13, and a girl, 15, were arguing in the 3000 block of Stranden Road about 3 p.m. Wednesday when the girl pulled out a knife and cut off one of the boy's thumbs. The thumb was reattached at the Raymond Curtis National Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital. The boy's condition was not available. The girl was arrested and charged as a juvenile with aggravated assault.

Rape -- After a woman fueled her car at a gas station in the 1400 block of Washington Blvd. about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and was about to drive off, a man who implied he had a weapon got into the vehicle and told her to drive. On Washington Boulevard somewhere in Howard County, the man ordered her to stop the car, then raped her and fled on foot. The victim was treated at Howard County General Hospital.

Burglary -- DVDs, a DVD player, compact discs and video games -- all valued at $500 -- were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 600 block of Hillview Road by someone who entered through the front door.


Theft -- A woman's wallet containing cash and identification was stolen Thursday afternoon from a purse she left unattended and hanging on a chair at Cafe Mocha in the 800 block of N. Howard St.


Burglary/arrest -- Officer Kevin Evans was responding to a burglary of a house under renovation in the 100 block of S. Ellwood Ave. about 3 p.m. Tuesday when he observed a man standing outside a green car with its trunk open and containing property later identified as belonging to the house's occupant. Arrested and charged with burglary was Michael A. Peacock, 32, of the 1400 block of Hardwick Drive. A crowbar believed used to enter the house was found in the car.

Baltimore County

White Marsh

Burglary -- Someone broke into Bay Region Psychiatric Services in the 5000 block of Campbell Blvd. between Wednesday night and early Thursday after breaking a front window and stole computer equipment, medications and money.


Arson -- Someone set fire to an empty mailbox outside an apartment building in the 1400 block of Browning Drive about 7 p.m. Thursday.

North Point

Burglary -- A laptop computer valued at $1,000 and more than $1,000 in cash were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 7800 block of Rockbourne Road.
