A 16-year-old boy and a man were stabbed Monday at a Glen Burnie mall, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday. The teenager, who police are not identifying because he is a minor, was stabbed multiple times in the upper body and was listed in critical condition earlier this week, police said.

The other victim, Dexter Fuqua, 22, was stabbed once in the left hip and treated at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, police said.

Kenneth Lee Mayfield, 17, and Corey Jermaine Drake, 20, both of Glen Burnie, have been charged with two counts of attempted murder and assault in the incident, police said.

Police said the victims went to the mall to confront the suspects over the alleged theft of a cell phone from one of the victim's friends.

The suspects allegedly stabbed the victims with a pocketknife and a box cutter, police said.

Drake and Mayfield, who is being charged as an adult, were being held yesterday at the Jennifer Road Detention center on $500,000 bail.
