3 men are stabbed in Catonsville area

County police were investigating the stabbing of three men early yesterday in the Catonsville area, authorities said.

Four adult males were in the first block of Dunbar Ave. shortly after 3 a.m. yesterday when an argument broke out, county police said. One of the men in the group stabbed the others and fled, according to police.

Two of the injured men were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. The third man was taken to St. Agnes Hospital but left shortly after his arrival, police said.

Detectives had not identified a suspect, and it was unclear what led to the argument, police said.

Woman of the Year nominations

The Baltimore County Commission for Women is accepting nominations for its "Woman of the Year" and "Young Woman of the Year" awards.

Female residents who have made significant, unique or lasting contributions to the community are eligible for the "Woman of the Year" award. Nominees for "Young Woman of the Year" must be a high school senior.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 12.

Gardina to address revitalization

County Councilman Vincent J. Gardina will speak about goals for revitalization in Towson at The Greater Towson Committee's Dec. 11 town hall-style meeting.

The forum, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be held at Goucher College's Merrick Hall.

Meeting on park improvements

A meeting to discuss whether a children's splash pad should be built at the Stevenswood Park in the Randallstown area is scheduled for Dec. 14.

The county is to receive a $150,000 grant for a playground at the 5-acre park that opened in 2002 on the former site of a troubled housing complex.

The 7 p.m. community meting to discuss the park will be held at the Winfield Elementary Recreation Activity Room, 8300 Carlson Lane. Information: 410-887-3871.
