Sister Mary Charlotte Beierli, 94

Sister Mary Charlotte Beierli, who taught for many years in Westminster, died of old age Nov. 23 at her order's Maria Health Care Center in Baltimore. She was 94.

Born Elizabeth Virginia Beierli and raised in Baltimore, she was a 1930 graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame and entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1932.

She taught at St. Augustine parochial school in Elkridge, St. Wenceslaus in East Baltimore, St. Patrick in Mount Savage and Corpus Christi in Bolton Hill. She also taught in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In 1971, she began a 26-year stay at St. John's in Westminster, where she taught music and became the librarian. She retired in 1997 and moved to her order's Villa Assumpta home in Woodbrook, where her funeral Mass was offered Monday.

She is survived by cousins.
