Police have charged a second man in the beating death of an employee of an East Baltimore motel Aug. 9. Members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force entered Central Booking and Intake Center on Monday afternoon and placed a detainer on the suspect, Demetrious Williams, 18, who was being held at the lockup on an unrelated charge.

Williams, of the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave., and Darryl Cook, 23, who was arrested Sept. 29 in the first block of S. Carey St., are each charged with the fatal beating of Cecil Saunders, 28, who was an employee of Executive Inn Motel in the 3600 block of Pulaski Highway.

Police responding to a report of an injured man about 3:45 a.m. found Saunders' battered body lying on exterior stairs leading to the second floor at the motel.

Police said a third man suspected in the killing was being sought but declined to provide his name.
