Three teenage boys were shot last night outside a row of townhouses in the Cherry Hill neighborhood of South Baltimore, and one of them died at a hospital, city police said.

Southern District officers responding to gunshots about 9:20 p.m. found the wounded victims - ages 13 to 16 - in the 1200 block of Shellbanks Road near Blyden Road.

Two victims were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, one of whom was shot in the chest and died, police said. The other was being treated at Hopkins for a wound to an arm, while the third victim was shot in a hand and taken to Harbor Hospital, said Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman.

Police knew of no motive for the shootings and had made no arrest. Names of the victims were not given until their families could be notified, Harris said.
