HARFORD SCHOOL BOARD -- The Harford County Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, 102 S. Hickory Ave., Bel Air. Decisions are scheduled to be made on the future of the former Gordon Street school building and on a revised policy on school-facility use by outside groups. 410-588-5203.

TOMORROW

TOWSON TREE LIGHTING -- The annual Baltimore County Tree-Lighting Ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with music and refreshments at Towson Commons, Pennsylvania Avenue and York Road, in Towson. WEDNESDAY

FESTIVAL OF WREATHS -- The Carroll County Arts Council's Festival of Wreaths will feature 230 decorated wreaths from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster. The event will continue through Sunday. Admission is free. 410-848-7272 or carr.org/arts.

THURSDAY

MAIN STREET CHRISTMAS -- Mount Airy will start its Main Street Christmas celebration with a tree lighting at 7:30 p.m. Other events will be held in the downtown Main Street area Friday and Saturday. 301-829-8300.

SATURDAY

MERRY TUBA CHRISTMAS -- The 23rd annual Merry Tuba Christmas will feature the sounds of more than 250 tubas and euphoniums playing seasonal music and holiday carols from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Harborplace Amphitheatre in the Inner Harbor. Admission is free. 800-HARBOR-1.

MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE -- The Steppingstone Museum will hold its annual Christmas Open House from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 461 Quaker Bottom Road, Havre de Grace. ANNE ARUNDEL CEREMONY -- John R. Leopold will be inaugurated as Anne Arundel County executive in a ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Chesapeake Arts Center, 194 Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park.
