The Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers were considered contenders to reach the NFC championship game this season, and some went as far as to suggest the Super Bowl. After the Redskins and Panthers began the season 0-2, the hysteria was hushed.
When they meet this afternoon at FedEx Field, there is no talk about it being even a playoff preview. The Redskins are 3-7, having lost five of their past six games. After finding themselves at 4-4 before their bye week, the Panthers have won two straight and are back in the playoff hunt.
