Howard History

November 26, 2006

From the Nov. 24, 1985, Howard Sun: "The County Council gave its approval last week to a proposed extension of Route 100 to run between Interstate 95 and U.S. 29, despite strong opposition from residents in the corridor."

Later in the article: "Public hearings on the proposal recently drew more than 200 residents, many of whom would be affected by the extension, who argued that the road was unnecessary and that the state was forcing the county to act hastily on the route. Construction of the extension is expected to be at least eight to 10 years away."
