`Beauty I'

After the 2004 tsunami, Sri Lankan children made inspiring, beautiful drawings despite the tragedy in their lives. Some of the works will briefly be on display along with artwork from Baltimore Freedom Academy students. The exhibit, called Beauty I, opens Tuesday at Current Gallery.

"Through art we find beauty in the world," said artist director Peter Brunn. "Beauty is the underlying reality to being alive."

Beauty I opens with a reception 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Tuesday and runs through Nov. 30 at Current Gallery, 30 S. Calvert St. Hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 30. For more information, go to artonpurpose.org.
