Center to advise on Medicare Part D

For the second year, Anne Arundel County has opened a free Medicare Part D assistance center to help local seniors discuss the best Medicare coverage options for their health care needs.

The center inside the Annapolis Senior Center is staffed by professionals from the Department of Aging and Disabilities.

The assistance center at the senior center, 119 S. Villa Ave., is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 29. Seniors must make an appointment by calling 410-222-4464. Transportation is available by calling the same number.

Lecture to discuss Alzheimer's care

The Annapolis Senior Center, 119 S. Villa Ave., will present "Mission NOT Impossible: Managing Behaviors in a Dementia Affected Loved One," for people caring for those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. The lecture will discuss how to prevent or manage disturbing behaviors while maintaining your own control.

Hospice sets sessions to explain services

Hospice of the Chesapeake will provide information on its services at the following senior centers:

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., South County Senior Center, 27 Stepney's Lane, Edgewater.

Mini massages -- A certified massage therapist will provide mini massages of members' necks, arms, hands and shoulders from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Annapolis Senior Center, 119 S. Villa Ave.
