SYMPHONY HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Tour six professionally decorated private homes in historic Hampton, as part of the annual Symphony Homes for the Holidays event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Included on the tour is the former home of Hollywood actress Dorothy Lamour, who moved to the area in 1949 with her husband, William Ross Howard. The event is presented by the Baltimore Symphony Associates. Purchase tickets or pick up a map of the homes at Maryland Presbyterian Church, 1105 Providence Road, Towson. DESIGN HOUSE

In celebration of Metropolitan Home magazine's 25th anniversary, the publication and the Washington Design Center present the 2006 Design House, through Dec. 16, at the center, 300 D St. S.W., Washington. Eight Washington interior designers decorated the rooms according to the theme "Modern With a Capital `M'."
