"MISS SHIRLEY" GLEAN (nee Krout) WILLIAMS, 81. Beloved wife to Clifton C. Williams Sr. for 64 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Joseph Richey Hospice on November 14, 2006. A native of Baltimore, Shirley raised five children and then became a Baltimore City School Crossing Guard, spending over 25 years at the corner of 26th and Charles Streets, she was known and loved by two generations of school children as "Miss Shirley". In addition to her job and family, Shirley loved animals, was a prolific joke teller and a master bargain shopper. Pre-deceased by her parents, Robert Stephen and Ethel Mae (nee French) Krout. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria L. and Patrick Hansard of Princeton, NJ, four sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton C. Jr. and Cheryl of Joppa, Kenneth L. and Dink (deceased) of Baltimore, Donald M. and Cathy of Wesminster, Robert S. and Ronda of Bel Air, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Burgee Funeral Home, 3631 Falls Road (21211). Viewing on Friday, November 17 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Baltimore County.
