Second round

St. John's (14-5-2) @ Maryland (15-4-1)

Site -- Ludwig Field, College Park

Time -- 7 p.m.

Outlook -- The teams have met in the NCAAs for the past four seasons, with Maryland eventually advancing to the final four each time, culminating with a national championship for the Terps last year. The Red Storm, seeded ninth in the tournament, is hoping to continue its current seven-game streak of shutouts. Most recently, St. John's blanked Monmouth, 1-0, in the NCAA's first round on Friday.

Fairfield (15-5-1) @ Towson (14-1-3)

Site -- Towson Center Field

Time -- 2 p.m.

Outlook -- The Stags of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference are on a four-game winning streak, including a 2-1 first-round victory over Connecticut. Senior Jimmy Gaughan's goal in the 82nd minute lifted Fairfield to the program's first-ever NCAA tournament win. Fifteenth-ranked Towson, on the other hand, is hoping to continue its unbeaten streak of 13 games, and the team is 6-0-2 at home this season.
