Rebecca L. Harding, a manager of information engineering for an Annapolis engineering company, died of cancer Sunday at University of Maryland Medical Center. The Severna Park resident was 44.

She was born Rebecca Lee Himmelmann in Milwaukee and moved with her family to Cape St. Claire in 1974.

She was a 1980 graduate of Severna Park High School and earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1985. She earned a master's degree in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering in 1997.

From 1985 until 1995, she was a senior engineering analyst at AAI Corp. in Cockeysville. She subsequently worked for the now-defunct B-to-B Software Applications in Baltimore and later at Corvis Corp. in Columbia. In recent years, she was manager of information engineering at Arinc Inc.

An outdoorswoman, Mrs. Harding enjoyed skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving and camping. She also liked to vacation in Ocean City and at Wisp in Western Maryland.

Mrs. Harding was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, where services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Surviving are her husband of 17 years, Jeffrey Reamy Harding Sr., a musician; a son, Jeffrey Reamy Harding Jr., 10; and her parents, Thomas M. and Kay L. Himmelmann of Cape St. Claire.
