Symphony of Lights offers a party tent

Symphony of Lights, Howard County General Hospital's drive-through light display, will introduce the Polar Lounge, a heated hospitality tent for holiday parties. The new facility is to help generate more income for the hospital's maternal child services.

in the heart of the light display, the 60- by 40-foot heated tent can be customized to accommodate as many as 125 seated guests. Menu and entertainment options are to be supplied by companies drawn from a list of preferred vendors.

Optional services include Victorian holiday singers, acoustic guitarists, trolley rides, appearances by characters and other entertainment. The lounge will be available for rental through Jan. 6.

Networking group is meeting today

The Business Women's Network of Howard County Inc., a networking organization for women, will hold a luncheon meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the Columbia Hilton Hotel.

The topic is "Building Business Relationships That Last -- Taking Networking to the Next Level."

The networking organization for professional women in the business community holds luncheon meetings on the third Wednesday of each month.

Drivers needed -- Drivers are needed to provide bus transportation for students in the Howard County schools. The school system provides classroom and practical instruction to help drivers acquire the required license and endorsements. Wages are about $13 an hour. Hours of work range from four to 10 hours a day. The school system's Office of Student Transportation will put interested drivers in touch with contractors. 410-313-6733.

Health care plan -- The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce and the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are offering a limited health care plan to members. The plan, which does not require employer contributions or minimum employee participation, includes access to health care providers in Alliance PPO. Literature about the plan is available in Spanish.
