Zoning hearing -- The Office of Planning will hold a zoning hearing at 9 a.m. in Room 407, County Office Building, 401 Bosley Ave., Towson. The special hearing is for a variance to permit 3,343 off-street parking spaces in lieu of the required 4,659 spaces on the south side of Eastern Avenue and north side of North Point Boulevard. 410-887-3391.

Council -- The County Council will meet for a work session at 2 p.m. on the second floor of the County Court House, 400 Washington Ave., Towson. 410-887- 3196.

Park meeting -- The county Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. at the Winfield Elementary School Recreation Center cafeteria, 8300 Carlson Lane to discuss whether a splash pad should be put at a Stevenswood Park site. 410-887- 3806.

Plan conference -- The Department of Permits and Development Management will hold a development plan conference at 9 a.m. in Room 123 of the County Office Building, 111 W. Chesapeake Ave., Towson. Transit and development -- The county Planning Board's speaker series on transit-oriented development will be held at 4 p.m. in Room 407, New Courts Building, 401 Bosley Ave., Towson.
