Tiffany Jackson scored 24 points to lead the No. 25 Texas women to a 78-55 victory over UMES in the Basketball Travelers Classic tournament last night in Austin.

Jackson was 8-for-14 from the field, Erika Arriaran scored 15 points and Earnesia Williams added 10 for the Longhorns (1-0). Erneisha Bailey had 11 rebounds.

Kristi Veltkamp led UMES (0-2) with 14 points.

The Longhorns held UMES scoreless for the first 5:28 of the second half.

Loyola 66, Drexel 57 -- Brittany Dunn and Jill Glessner (17 points each) led a foursome of double-digit scorers as the visiting Greyhounds (1-1) beat the Dragons (0-2) at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Loyola opened with a 7-0 run, not allowing a basket for more than three minutes. After the first Dragons basket at 16:26 for a 7-2 lead, Loyola went on another run, outscoring Drexel 14-3 during the next seven minutes to take a 21-5 lead.

George Washington 63, Coppin State 53 -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored a career-high 22 points and Whitney Allen posted her third career double double as the host Colonials (2-0) beat the Eagles (0-1) at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. George Washington built a 30-21 halftime lead and held on in the second half. Rashida Suber led Coppin with 16 points, and Talia Sutton added 10.

Marshall 74, Navy 47 -- Modupe Ishola scored a game-high 17 points for the visiting Herd (1-0) and the Mids (0-2) missed 15 of 16 field-goal tries to open the second half. Navy's Kate Hobbs and Lauren Nelson finished with 13 points each.
