Gardner's play preserves win

Maryland cornerback Isaiah Gardner, whose grandmother died Tuesday, made a key play to preserve his team's win Saturday.

"He was very emotional after the game," Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen said yesterday. "I thought Isaiah played one of his better games. ... The play at the end of the game, that was the play of the game, really."
