Top-ranked Liberty polished off its sixth straight regional volleyball championship last night by rallying from seven points down in the third game to sweep North Hagerstown, 25-23, 25-15, 26-24.

Trailing 18-11 in the final game, the host Lions (16-1) came back to tie the game at 23 and then fought off the Hubs on match point to win the Class 2A West title, thanks to Melissa Stansbury's blistering jump serve and Sam Walters' finishing kill.

Stansbury led the Lions with 15 kills, while Walters had nine. Setter Ashleigh Swiontek dished out 27 assists and Katie Dell had a terrific serving game with 15 service points.

The Lions eked out a close first game and then rolled through the second game, but the Hubs (13-4) and 6-foot-3 Kate Zimmer (14 kills) controlled the early part of the third game.

The Lions advance to the state semifinals Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at Comcast Center, where they will meet No. 2 Reservoir.
