Japanese style -- Slayton House on Wilde Lake Village Green will present Florals, Foliage and Friendship, an exhibition of Japanese-style gouach paintings by artists and friends Camellia Blackwell and Mina Ando from Tuesday through Dec. 18. Evergreen (above) will be part of the exhibition. Blackwell and Ando met when Ando was a student at Howard Community College and volunteered to work with the International Center for Artistic Development in Savage, of which Blackwell is one of the founders; the two have worked together exploring painting techniques in Blackwell's studio in Savage Mill. A reception is planned from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. 410-730-3987.
