Underground farewell

The lowdown -- Underground, one of the city's premier dance parties, is ending its 5 1/2 -year run Saturday night. The Ottobar will retire the event with $2 rails, drafts and Natty Bohs until 10:30 p.m. and no cover charge. And, as always, plenty of new wave, indie and Brit pop.

Four Particles in a jam

The lowdown -- Particle, a four-piece, mostly instrumental jam band, plays the Recher Theatre Sunday. The group released a live album and DVD earlier this year. Live, the band members pump out improvised electronic jams that sometimes reach the 20-minute mark. Local funk outfit Soul'd Out opens.

Jesse Malin In Annapolis

The lowdown -- Former D Generation frontman turned singer-songwriter Jesse Malin comes to Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis on Monday. Alt-country luminary Ryan Adams took Malin under his wing, producing his first album. This tour is in support of Malin's third solo record.
