Christmas market

Looking forward to the holidays, but not the frenzied rush to the mall? Well, start your shopping early. The Northern Virginia Christmas Market takes place Friday through Nov. 12 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Va., and offers an array of unique, fun and festive holiday gifts and collectibles. More than 300 artisans will display their wares, including toys, pottery, stained glass, woodworks, handmade jewelry and lots of Christmas decor. The marketplace also features a huge selection of gourmet goodies from food vendors. Visitors will find cookies, almond pound cakes, fruit cakes, fudge, homemade jams, salsas and more.

The show runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Dulles Expo Center, 4368 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, Va. Admission is $7; free for age 12 and younger.
