5 Things I Have To Have Now

Last month, Carla Hayden, executive director of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, traveled to Texas. A week later, she was off to Barcelona, Spain. Next spring, she plans to enjoy shopping in Paris. While Hayden would love to own a bookstore some day, she could just as easily open a stylish shoe store. Who says librarians are bookworms? Not us.

Wire-haired fox terrier "I love dogs and I love the terrier breeds. But I would have to have a dog walker during the day."

Personal chef "Someone who could do low-calorie food and great desserts. Chocolate brownies and chocolate souffle, but low fat and high taste."

Gift card from the Ivy Bookstore "If you could own a bookstore, this is the kind you would want. It's small, floor-to-ceiling with books and they give great customer service."

A vacation rental in Paris "I try to go at least once a year. It satisfies my fashion fixation as well as being such a great city."

Pair of Indigo shoes "I am always on the lookout for stylish, comfortable shoes. I found my first pair of these at Marshall Fields in Chicago. Boy, are they comfortable and they don't look like granny shoes."
