Career Highlights
Waite is the senior principal of the firm, which is leadingrestorations of Davidge Hall, the oldest building of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The firm is currently working on the Statue of Liberty and the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and Columbia University.
Personal
Waite, 62, is a native of Troy, N.Y. and lives there with his wife, Diana, a graduate of Goucher College. An architectural historian, she conducted archival research for the basilica restoration. They have a son who lives in Portland, Ore.
Philosophy
"It's very important that these buildings be saved. They really are our heritage, and they teach people where we came from and the proper treatment of them."
