Teen guilty of murder

November 04, 2006|By Julie Bykowicz

A 17-year-old pleaded guilty yesterday to second-degree murder and use of a handgun in the fatal shooting last year of another Baltimore teen-ager.

After the plea, Jermaine Isaac of the 330 block of S. Furrow St. was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with all but 14 years suspended, for the murder conviction. Circuit Judge Judge Martin P. Welch also sentenced Isaac to five years for the handgun conviction, but that term is to run concurrent.

Prosecutors said that on Nov. 15, 2005, Isaac, 16 at the time, fatally shot Darren Parker, 19, during an argument in the 2100 block of Wilhelm St. in Southwest Baltimore.
