COLLEGE PARK -- Coach Brenda Frese's goals for the Maryland women's basketball team's exhibition against the Lake Truck All-Stars were modest: to get in a little preseason work and to get out of the night unscathed and uninjured.

Both objectives were easily met, as the defending national champion Terps cruised to an 80-64 win before a modest crowd of about 1,000 at Comcast Center, even though the performance wasn't midseason smooth. Maryland shot 32 percent from the field in the second half, and essentially traded baskets with the All-Stars.
