MOSE TOLLIVER Folk artist

Mose Tolliver, a folk artist whose self-portraits and vivid images of nature and the female form made him a leader of the modern-day "outsider art" movement, died of pneumonia Monday in Montgomery, Ala. The self-taught artist was in his 80s. He began painting in the 1960s after being severely injured at work in a furniture factory.
