November is in the wings, poised for a Wednesday entrance. It's autumn to meteorologists, but each date in November has produced an early snow. The record snowfall was 8.4 inches Nov. 30, 1967. One of the most memorable was the 6-incher on Veterans Day 1987. Average highs slip from 61 degrees to 51 by month's end. Average lows fall below freezing by the 28th. Records include an 86-degree high on Nov. 1, 1950, and a 12-degree low on Nov. 30, 1929, a remarkable spread of 74 degrees.
