Top-ranked Centennial bounced out

The host No. 6 Reservoir volleyball team stunned No. 1 and previously unbeaten Centennial in four games last night and knocked the 14-time county champions out of the Howard County championship match.

Until this week, Reservoir coach Carole Ferrante said she thought her Gators (13-1) and Centennial (12-1) had already clinched berths in the championship and that No. 7 Glenelg (8-3) was out.

But instead of the two teams with the best records meeting in the title match, the division winners will play Wednesday, with Glenelg (Division II) at Reservoir (Division I).
