TJ's postcard from Hamilton got tossed into the "S" mail slot, so this comes a bit late: "What was the past summer like? I heard it was one of the hottest. Do you consider humidity at all?" Where were you, TJ? The summer of 2006 was the hottest here since 1995, almost 3 degrees above average. BWI counted 37 days with highs of 90 degrees or more. An August drought followed heavy June rains, leaving us with near-normal precipitation. Humidity doesn't figure into seasonal rankings. It should.
