Howard County Through The Eyes Of Sun Photographers

October 25, 2006

Howard County Center of African American Culture Inc. held its 13th annual Men in the Kitchen fundraiser Sunday at Long Reach High School. The organization has a museum, cultural center and library adjacent to Oakland Manor in Columbia. It also has a research library at Howard Community College. Proceeds from the event Sunday will support the museum. Wylene Sims Burch, director of the organization, said approximately 82 chiefs from the county participated. "They are friends of the community and they cook their own specialty," she said. Approximately 250 to 300 people attended the afternoon event, Buch said, not including the chefs.
