City police recovered yesterday a car they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident late Thursday in North Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood, a department spokeswoman said.

Officer Nicole Monroe said the car was found about 4 a.m. in the 1400 block of Roland Heights Ave. near Medfield Heights Park. Police said the accident occurred about 10:45 p.m. at Falls Road and West 40th Street and that a pedestrian was fatally injured.

Police did not release the identity of the victim yesterday. A police spokesman said the driver of the vehicle has not been located.
