Gunman sought in death of teen

A teenage boy was fatally shot on a street in West Baltimore, and police knew of no motive for the killing - the city's latest reported homicide. Shortly before 3 a.m. yesterday, Western District officers responding to a 911 call of a shooting in the 800 block of W. Baltimore St. found the youth lying in the street, with wounds to the head and upper body, said Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman. The teen died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Harris said. His name and age were not released yesterday. Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

Anne Arundel: Fatal crash

Driver runs off road in Jessup

A driver died yesterday afternoon when a vehicle ran off a road in Jessup and struck a tree, Anne Arundel County police reported. Details of the 2 p.m. accident on Clark Road near Route 175, including the type of vehicle, were not reported yesterday, and the victim's name was withheld pending notification of family members, police said. The lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the body taken to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore, authorities said. The Anne Arundel County Police Department's crash team is investigating the cause of the accident.
