After graduating from Loyola College in 2002, Mia Isse took a circuitous route to her current occupation. Following a brief stay in dental school, she entered a graduate business program inWashington while working on the side for a wedding planner. It was the side track that captured her imagination, and in August, Isse opened Garnish, a boutique that specializes in attire and accessories for bridesmaids.

Unlike more formal bridal salons, Garnish is refreshingly relaxed. "There's nothing like this in this industry," Isse says.

Bridesmaids and their needs tend get lost in the wedding planning industry, and Isse has sought to remedy that oversight with her airy Mount Washington shop. The shop glimmers with satins and silks in periwinkles, tangerines and rich pomegranate reds.

Isse's designers are young and their silhouettes are fresh, chic and affordably priced from $200 to $400. They can also meet the customization needs of discerning brides and their attendants. Orders generally take three months to complete.

Garnish caters as well to mothers of the bride and flower girls. The shop's frocks would suit most festive occasions.

Isse also carries gifts for bridesmaids, lingerie and nontraditional wedding gowns.
