Chamber to hold series on contacts

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a seminar series, "Contacts Count," from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Small Business Development Center, 2660 Riva Road, Suite 200.

Marcia Hall of Marcia Hall & Associates, will discuss networking and how to expand a business. The cost is $25 for members in advance.

Financial advisers to meet legislators

The Anne Arundel Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors will hold its annual legislative breakfast to discuss positions and concerns with elected representatives at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Buddy's Crabs & Ribs, 100 Main St., Annapolis.

The breakfast will be held with the Prince George's association.

Realtor completes management course

William J. Daly of Weichert Realtors has completed the four-day Weichert Management Academy.

The academy, located in New Jersey, is focused on building world-class real estate offices.

Daly participated in a concentrated, accelerated program emphasizing recruiting, training and career development, systems installation and business planning.

Symposium on economy planned

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold an economic outlook symposium from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the BWI Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road.

Keynote speaker Stuart Varney of the Fox News network will talk about opportunities and obstacles to economic growth.

A trade show will also be held.

The cost is $55 for members in advance, $75 at the door, $500 for a table of 10.

Open house planned on technology

My PC Guy Inc. will hold an open house with an afternoon of technology and networking at 3 p.m. Thursday at 889 Airport Park Road, Suite E, Glen Burnie.

Staff members will be available to answer computer questions and provide information about products from Microsoft.

There will be a demonstration and presentation on Managed Services and RISK - Raising Internet Security Knowledge.

The open house is part of the Microsoft Across America Mobile Event Experience.

BWI wins 4 awards from airport group

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport won four awards in the Airports Council International--North America's 2006 Excellence in Marketing and Communications Contest.

The awards, presented at the council's 15th annual conference and exhibition, recognized BWI for partnering with carriers, marketing campaigns, print advertising and flight guides.

Insurer opens first area service center

Progressive Group Insurance Cos., which sells vehicle insurance, has opened its first service center in the area and its 47th nationwide at 841 Cromwell Park, Glen Burnie.
