October 13, 2006

Carol A. Rams, a housekeeper and longtime Reisterstown resident, died of lung cancer Monday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. She was 61.

Carol Ann Mauck was born in Baltimore and raised in Randallstown. She was a 1962 graduate of Milford Mill High School.

During the 1980s, Mrs. Rams worked in medical records at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson. Until 2003, she owned and operated her own housecleaning business.

"She liked reading Christian novels and loved her dogs," said her sister, the Rev. Shirley Barley, pastor of Reisterstown Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Rams was an active member of her sister's church, where she was a deaconess, youth leader and Sunday school teacher.

Her husband of 32 years, Montague Rams, an assembly line worker for Vann's Spices, died in 2005.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at her church, 808 Berrymans Lane.

Also surviving are two brothers, Wally Mauck of La Mesa, Calif., and William Mauck of Reisterstown; three other sisters, Marylou Cayce of Stewartstown, Pa., Evelyn Bogrand of Tacoma, Wash., and Alice Flynn of Westminster; and many nieces and nephews.
