Fall Fest benefit

The lowdown -- Named for its front man, the Pat McGee Band has been a staple in the regional acoustic jam scene since the '90s. Saturday, the band plays Fall Fest Live, a benefit show for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults at the Lodge Bar in Power Plant Live. Local acts Plunge and Down to This will open, and Regan from the MIX 106.5 FM morning show will MC. Ravens cheerleaders will also be at the five-hour show.

The lowdown -- Saturday, the Big Art Show comes to the Ottobar. It's a combination traveling art exhibit, with works from about 50 artists, and live music extravaganza. The Mishaps, Jason Dove, Squaaks, Man in Gray and Mossyrock will perform.

The lowdown -- In a move designed to give local bands more exposure, the 8x10 is launching a Tuesday night series called 5 Bands for $5. Each act gets about 45 minutes of performance time and the chance to play at a professional venue and win new fans. This Tuesday's lineup is Solarium, Equals Conquest, Trafalgar, Malander and Righteous Soul.
