Man is struck, killed by car in Reisterstown

A man walking along a street in Reisterstown early yesterday was killed when he was struck by a car, Baltimore County police said.

The driver of a 2001 Ford Mustang was headed southbound on Main Street near Stocksdale Avenue about 2 a.m. when he lost control of the car, spun around and crossed into the northbound lane. The car hit the man walking alongside the road, then plowed into some shrubbery before hitting a guard rail adjacent to the parking lot of the Chartley Shopping Center, said investigator Richard Kesterson.

FOR THE RECORD - An article in yesterday's Maryland section about a scheduled political forum in the Perry Hall area incorrectly listed the Democratic candidates for the House of Delegates representing the 7th district in Baltimore and Harford counties. They are: Linda W. Hart, Rebecca L. Nelson and Jack Sturgill.
The Sun regrets the errors.

The driver, who was not identified by police, was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The pedestrian, in his mid-40s, was not identified yesterday by police because relatives had not been notified.
