State police are awaiting an autopsy report from the state medical examiner's office on the body of an unidentified man who was apparently struck by several vehicles and killed Saturday night on Interstate 95 in Halethorpe.

About 9:30 p.m., motorists began calling authorities, reporting something had been "strewn" across the northbound lanes between Exits 49 and 50, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that the man probably had been struck by several vehicles, police said.
