Maryland offense vs. Georgia Tech defense -- The Terps used the bye week to improve the timing and precision on passing routes and to revamp an offensive line that made 22 mistakes in a win against Florida International. Whether the line improved could be known early, as Georgia Tech will blitz 85 to 90 percent of the time. Maryland quarterback Sam Hollenbach will be a target for linebackers KaMichael Hall and Philip Wheeler, who combined for 19 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups in a win against Virginia Tech.

Maryland defense vs. Georgia Tech offense -- Yellow Jackets quarterback Reggie Ball is third in the ACC in pass efficiency, but the Terps are fourth in pass defense. What Maryland hasn't been able to do is stop the run, as it has allowed 154.5 rushing yards per game, 11th in the ACC. Georgia Tech junior running back Tashard Choice is averaging 72.8 yards. Everyone knows about Yellow Jackets receiver Calvin Johnson, but no one has found a way to stop him.
