Kicker is on target after two injury-marred seasons

October 05, 2006|By Don Markus | Don Markus,Sun Reporter

ASHBURN, Va. -- John Hall heard the debate all summer about whether his right leg had responded to offseason surgery and whether the Washington Redskins should be looking to find another kicker to replace the 10-year veteran.

Hall also heard the boos from the fans at FedEx Field when he missed a couple of field-goal tries during a preseason scrimmage against the Ravens, and heard them grow louder the night he missed a potential game-tying 48-yard attempt to seal a 19-16, season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
