LEROY SCHORR HOLDEN, 81, died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at home in Baltimore. Mr. Holden was born on August 24, 1925, the son of Robert and Anna Holden. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and received a degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland. He served in the United States Army from February 1944 until the end of World War II in 1945. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and was promoted from Private to Staff Sergeant while engage in this conflict. After the war he worked as an engineer for several years and then joined his father and brother at R.B. Holden and Son, a floral grower in Towson. Mr. Holden is survived by his twin sister, Lelia Holden Williams, of Annapolis. He was predeceased by sisters, Peggy Holden Frome of Winter Park, FL and Dorothy Holden Thompson of Easton, MD and a brother, Robert Holden, Jr. of Baltimore. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 7, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Annapolis.
