Sails are up

The lowdown -- More than 250 sailboats will be on display at the United States Sailboat Show this weekend in Annapolis. The show runs today through Monday at City Dock.

If you go -- The show opens with a media/VIP event 10 a.m.-6 p.m. today and is open to the public 10 a.m.-7 p.m. tomorrow-Sunday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $30 for VIP admission today. General admission is $16 for adults and $8 for children 12 and younger tomorrow-Monday. Information: 410- 268-8828 or usboat.com.

River fest

The lowdown -- Enjoy a variety of entertainment this weekend at the Patuxent River Appreciation Days. Held at the Calvert Maritime Museum, the free event runs from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. tomorrow and continues with live music, boat rides, toy boat building workshops and arts and crafts at 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

Fall fun

The lowdown -- Usher in autumn at the Carroll County Farm Museum's Fall Harvest Days this weekend. There will be scarecrow-stuffing, mule- and tractor-pulled wagon rides, vendors and more.

If you go -- The event runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the museum, 500 S. Center St. in Westminster. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 7-18 and 60 and older. Those 6 and younger get in free with a paying adult. Information: 410-386-3880 or carrollcounty farmmuseum.org.
