JAMES BALDWIN'S PARIS -- The National James Baldwin Literary Society and the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore will present "A French Cabaret Evening: James Baldwin's Paris" from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the zoo's Mansion House Porch in Druid Hill Park. TOMORROW

BALTIMORE COUNTY COUNCIL -- The Baltimore County Council will meet in a legislative session at 7 p.m. in council chambers on the second floor at the County Court House, 400 Washington Ave., Towson. The agenda includes funding for Perry Hall Middle School renovations and limits on panhandle lots in the South Perry Hall-White Marsh area.

WEDNESDAY

WORLD WAR II BOMBERS -- The Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour featuring World War II bombers will make a three-day visit to Carroll County Regional Airport in Westminster. The planes will be open for tours from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. VOICES FROM THE PAST -- The Maryland Humanities Council will present "The Baltimore I Knew: A Living History Roundtable" in which impersonators will offer the views of historical figures such as Thurgood Marshall, Edgar Allan Poe, Zelda Fitzgerald and H.L. FRIDAY

CRAFTS FESTIVAL -- The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Timonium. The show will continue from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Adult admission is $7. sugarloafcrafts.com.

SATURDAY

APPLE FESTIVAL -- The Darlington Apple Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shuresville Road and Main Street in Darlington. Apples, entertainment, country markets, art, crafts and refreshments will be featured. 410-457-4849.

FISHING TOURNAMENT -- Piney Run Park will hold a fishing tournament from 6 a.m. to noon on the lake at 30 Martz Road, Eldersburg. Entry fee is $15 plus park admission. Advance registration is encouraged. 410-795-5165.

COLUMBUS DAY PARADE -- Baltimore's annual Columbus Day Parade will step off at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon Place and continue south on Charles Street, east on Pratt Street, south on President Street and east on Fleet Street. www.columbuscelebrations.com.
