Awards

Brothers Services, a Hampstead-based roofing and remodeling company, received the Above and Beyond Award from the Maryland Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

The American Bankers Association awarded its Financial Marketing Award for customer retention to Waldorf-based Community Bank of Tri-County.

Plus1 won six awards in the 2006 American Graphic Design Awards competition for its work, including projects for Comcast and Team Four Foodservice.

The Arthritis Foundation will present Robert J. Lawless, chairman, president and chief executive of McCormick & Co., with its Lifetime Achievement Award in a ceremony Oct. 18.

New identity

Snow Services, a Severna Park snow removal firm that clears commercial properties, changed its name to Snow Movers. The name was introduced with a new logo and branding campaign.

Openings

Dover Saddlery opened its first Maryland store in Hunt Valley.

Marble Slab Creamery opened its first Baltimore store in Harborplace, on the second level of the Pratt Street Pavilion.

Dell Inc. opened a full service direct-sales store in Towson Town Center.
