Man fatally stabbed on his front porch

A 47-year-old man was fatally stabbed early yesterday on the porch of his house in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello community, according to Baltimore police.

Gary M. Nelson of the 1700 block of E. 30th St. was stabbed multiple times in the face and upper body around 1 a.m., said Officer Troy Harris, a city police spokesman. Nelson attempted to run into the house but collapsed before he got though the door, police said.

Nelson was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:20 a.m., Harris said.
