Domestic violence is topic of conference scheduled for Friday

A multiagency domestic violence conference, "Interpersonal Violence: The Next Steps," will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Carroll Community College, 1601 Washington Road, Westminster.

The keynote speaker will be Cheryl Kravitz, president of the Washington Region for Justice and Inclusion and a former abuse victim.

Workshops will be held throughout the day on "Safety and Crisis Management Planning for Traumatized Youth," "Paying Attention to the Person Behind the Face," "Health Care Response to Domestic Violence," "Building Boys into Men" and "A Group Therapy Model for Teen Recovery from Sexual Assault."

The cost is $40 for county residents, $45 for people from outside the county and $50 for those outside of Maryland. Registration is required. Information: 410-386-8574 or 410-386-8100.
