Chamber to hold Power Breakfast

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Power Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Annapolis Harbor, 12 Dock St.

The cost is $17 in advance and $22 at the door for members, $35 for others.

Group schedules networking event

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Multi-Chamber Networking Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport's Midfield Cargo Building G, Mathison Way (off Route 170).

The cost is $20 for members in advance and $30 for others and at the door.

Community job fair on Wednesday

The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation and the Fort Meade Morale, Welfare and Recreation will sponsor a community job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Club Meade, 6600 Mapes Road.

Job seekers should bring copies of their resumes and come dressed for a job interview.

Fundraiser set for floral adornments

The Annapolis Business Association will hold "Tastebuds," a culinary fundraiser for the purchase and maintenance of the hanging flower baskets and contained garden that adorn downtown Annapolis.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Loews Annapolis Hotel, 126 West St.

Mortgage company opens new branch

Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corp. has opened a new branch in Annapolis.

The branch is located at 2568 Riva Road, Suite 202. An open house will be held Wednesday.

The Annapolis Business Network International will hold its chapter meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in City Council chambers, City Hall, 160 Duke of Gloucester St. Networking begins at 7:15 a.m.

Nursing facility wins quality award

Spa Creek Center, a 134-bed nursing facility in Annapolis operated by Genesis HealthCare, has earned a 2006 Step I Quality Award from the American Health Care Association.

The AHCA Quality Award recognizes commitment to quality improvement at nursing facilities, assisted-living residences, and residences for people with mental challenges or developmental disabilities.

Firm hired to run growth study

The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp. has contracted with ZHA, Inc. of Annapolis to complete a study of proposed growth within the Odenton Town Center.

The cost of the study is being funded by a public and private partnership.
