Stover's leg gets a workout

A 72-yard kickoff return by B.J. Sams and two fumbles by Raiders quarterback Aaron Brooks helped stake the Ravens to a quick 9-0 lead. Matt Stover converted field-goal attempts of 25, 33 and 37 yards. The Ravens ran 20 plays compared to Oakland's eight.

McNair and Heap connect

The Raiders' offense came to life with a 13-play, 64-yard drive that was capped by Sebastian Janikowski's 34-yard field goal. The Ravens quickly responded with a 1-yard touchdown pass to tight end Todd Heap, wrapping up the 65-yard series with 43 seconds left in the half. Steve McNair was 4-for-5 for 50 yards on that scoring drive.

Turnovers and a clincher

Both teams traded interceptions early in this quarter. Despite trailing 21-3, the Raiders settled for a 51-yard field goal instead of trying to convert fourth-and-18. The Ravens capped their scoring after the two-minute warning with a 34-yard run by Mike Anderson before recording their sixth turnover with Ronnie Prude's interception.

Defense keeps up pressure

The Ravens recorded a safety when Adalius Thomas tackled Andrew Walter in the end zone, one of their four sacks in this quarter. Oakland's next series ended when Ravens nose tackle Kelly Gregg picked up a fumble and ran it back 59 yards to set up another field goal.
